This
year promises to be one of the most exciting in recent
history, perhaps surpassing even 2008. How could 2008
in any way, excepting fear, anxiety, and panic, be
considered “exciting?” To answer that
requires stepping back from the personal perspective
– which is where fear, anxiety, and panic originate
– into an impersonal perspective that allows
you an overview of frightening events such as the
global financial meltdown. From that expanded perspective,
our world is changing quickly to reflect the emergence
of new values (harmony, cooperation, sharing, and
reverence for Life) which are, for the most part,
absent from the world that we have known, the world
that is based on discord, competition, hoarding, and
exploitation. That is exciting. Nothing in our history
as a species can compare to it, yet at the same time
fear is crippling hundreds of millions of individuals
and pervading the collective consciousness.
From
the limited perspective of the five senses the job
ahead is to repair failing social structures so that
we will not be frightened by their dysfunction. From
the new multisensory (not limited to the five senses)
perspective, the job is to find and heal the sources
of fear within ourselves (the frightened parts of
our personalities), recognize and cultivate the wellsprings
of love within ourselves (the loving parts of our
personalities), and build new personal and social
structures that serve our new evolutionary requirement
(spiritual growth). The more we heal the frightened
parts of our personalities and cultivate the loving
parts, the more effective we become in creating a
world of health and well-being instead of destruction
and violence.
We
are providing you below a free De-Stress Kit for the
Changing Times, created by our friend Doc Childre
at the Institute of HeartMath. (Click the link below).
It contains thoughtful and effective steps you can
take to challenge frightened parts of your personality.
Whether or not they help you create authentic power
depends upon your intention – as always. For
example, if you use the step “communicate and
interact with others” as a way of challenging
a frightened part of your personality, you create
authentic power. If you use it to distract yourself
from your painful emotions, you do not. If you communicate
to help one another identify and challenge frightened
parts of your personalities, you create authentic
power. If you communicate to cultivate your fears
(isn’t this horrible, there is no way out, the
worst is yet to come, etc.), you do not.
The
more often you consciously and constructively respond
to a frightened part of your personality (such as
communicating and interacting with others) instead
of reacting to it (such as withdrawing) while you
are feeling it, the more the control of that part
of your personality over you diminishes. Eventually
its control over you disintegrates. That is how to
create authentic power.
